DAMARIS CODREA

A visual journal of becoming

When my mind floats on fire
like a wandering cloud,
in the darkness of those altitudes,
forgetful of life,
all alone in those glories of night,

like chaos unformed,
like a torment
who falls in the ocean of life.

I descend.

Where waters with waters meet,
where the roars of echoes greet,
where the sun is above
and the earth is below.

I ascend.

As the sun gives light to the soul,
as the spirit plays
on its side of the rainbow,
as my mind, in a circle, is brought
from earth
through the waters of pain.

As a sunbeam of cloud, I ascend,
but descend to the ocean again.
These fly to the heavens,
their course never ends.
